The 2007 General Membership meeting will be held in the Auditorio at the Hotel Puerta de Husa in Segovia, Spain, on 13 July 2007 from 09.30 to 13.30. The meeting is open to members and friends

Please note that whilst any member is able to make a proposal or amendment to the Governing Document, only NATIONAL members will be able to VOTE. All eligible associations are encouraged to submit their membership applications as soon as possible to ensure the right to vote at the General Membership meeting. There are no forms to complete except for payment purposes, although we will ask you to respond to a few questions when the Membership Assistant acknowledges your membership payment.

NATIONAL AND PROVISIONAL MEMBERSHIP

It is NOT possible for NATIONAL or PROVISIONAL members to join on-line. This is because there are forms to complete and post to WASLI and there are too many variables in calculating the fee.

WASLI SPONSORSHIP PROGRAMME 2007

In 2005, WASLI coordinated a sponsorship programme to get interpreters from under-developed countries to the conference in South Africa.We have launched a sponsorship programme for the 2007 Conference and we have already had applications for assistance from 37 individuals (mostly from African nations). However, we have had a disappointing response to our call for funding. Can you or your association, either individually or in cooperation with others, support the sponsorship programme with funding so that we can enable as many applicants as possible to attend the conference in Segovia. WASLI2005 CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS

Copies of this publication are still available and can be purchased on the WASLI website www.wasli.org/Shop/htm. Please note that due to the WASLI Secretary travelling from 8 February to 7 March, any orders received between these dates will not be despatched until after 7 March 2007.

Thanks to those who generously donated copies, which have been sent to a number of delegates who received sponsorship funding to the 2005 Conference.

WASLI 2011 CONFERENCE

The WASLI Board has agreed to delay making any decision about WASLI 2011 Conference. The Board feels strongly that the WASLI Conference should follow the World Federation of the Deaf Congress. The WASLI Board is liaising with the WFD in order to get some indication where WFD 2011 will be held. As soon as there is more information the Board will let you know.
