WASLI SPONSORSHIP Dear Interpreters - As you know, the WASLI conference is coming up in July and we have been attempting to find sponsors for many of the delegates who simply do not possess the financial means to attend the conference. At this point we have 37 candidates seeking sponsorship, and the majority of those people are from African nations. Our conference and organization will be stronger when we can have representation from all of these nations, and yet to date, we have had only 5 Canadian interpreters offer some financial support, and no interpreters from other regions have completed the form to participate in the program.
However, Sorenson Communication has agreed to sponsor some delegates. We are hoping that interpreters will consider pooling their resources and participating in this sponsorship program. I have attached a letter that explains the program. I look forward to hearing from any interpreters who may be in a position to contribute to this program. If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. Click here to download letter: Update One - Sponsorship 9.doc (78.50 KB)
Sincerely,
Deb Russell WASLI North American Representative EMAIL:
