PROPOSED ONLINE ASLIA CONFERENCE 2008

ASLIA National is investigating the possibility of hosting an online conference for the WASLI region of Australasia/Oceania in 2008. The goal of the online conference would be to give deaf and hearing interpreters, deaf and hearing consumers, interpreting service providers, interpreter educators, and interpreting students throughout the region an opportunity to come together and discuss issues particular to our region.

Holding the conference online will keep the costs down and enable participation from people throughout the region - in cities, regional and rural areas. Of course people from outside the region are also welcome to participate.

At the moment we would like to get a sense of how many people would be interested in participating in this type of conference, so we can work out the costs.
