ASLIA National Representative Council
These are our State Representative Council Members. They have an important role in providing vital links to State branches from the National Executive. They are elected by state branches to represent their home state at national level, and to act as liaison for national at state level. They disseminate information and provide bi-monthly state reports and feedback from to our members nationally.

Kellie Harman (VIC)
Kellie is a Professional level Interpreter with a Degree in Deaf Studies and an Advanced Diploma in Interpreting and Translating. She has been interpreting since 1998, working in community, church and education settings. She was recently awarded the ASLIA Vic Education Interpreter of the year for 2007, and took part in the Vicdeaf / ASLIA Vic Mentoring Program as a mentor in the same year. She loves interpreting, and is a proud mother of two young sons, she also enjoys tribal bellydance in her spare time.

Khang Chiem (VIC) |

Khang Chiem gained his paraprofessional NAATI accreditation in 2004 in Canberra. He grew up in Brisbane interpreting for his Deaf brothers and sisters, and friends. He has a hearing loss himself but has made good use of it as a bridging tool between the hearing and Deaf worlds.
Khang has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemistry and Bachelor of Business Management. He currently works full-time in the Public Service,interprets part-time and volunteers with a community organisation. His past times include reading (when he finds the time!), going to the theatre and staying in touch with his family.

Debbie Draeger (TAS) |

|
Debbie Draeger has been interpreting part time, since 1990 in an educational setting, which she thoroughly enjoys, and has more recently become involved in church interpreting. She a paraprofessional with a diploma of interpreting and is currently the Secretary of ASLIA TAS.
Computers are her time waster, she would love to be fluent in languages such as Python, PHP and Java Script. Her and husband Ken have a web design business, D.D.Designs, which keeps them both very busy.

Bec Jones & Brett Milton (QLD) |

Bec Jones acquired her para professional NAATI accreditation in 2006. Bec has been an ASLIA Q committee member since its re establishment in 2007. Bec interprets part time mostly in educational settings and spends the rest of her time parenting her two and half year old son. Bec finds educational interpreting an inspiring way to work and learn and is also keenly interested in the arts.

Robyn Tsapazi (WA) |

Ms Tsapazi gained her paraprofessional NAATI accreditation in 1992. She has worked as an interpreter in education and community settings. Ms Tsapazi has been a member of ASLIA (WA) since 1995 and has held the following office bearing positions: Treasurer 1996 to 1999; President 2003; and WA Branch Correspondence Secretary in 2004, she is the currently the ASLIA National Representative for the Western Australian branch of ASLIA.
Ms Tsapazi is on the Deaf Interpreting Service (DIS) interpreter registry at the WA Deaf Society, having resigned as the Manager of DIS in October last year. Ms Tsapazi is a member of NAATI's Regional Advisory Committee and conducts Interpreter Awareness Training by request. Ms Tsapazi is committed not only to the establishment of a Registration Board for Sign Language Interpreters in Western Australia but also to exploring tertiary training opportunities for interpreters at university level. Robyn won the Interpreter Advocate of the Year 2007 Award at the ASLIA (WA) Auslan Interpreter Awards held in May this year. She has a background in disability studies from Edith Cowan University, has her Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment; and has completed a Mental Health Interpreting Course at Central Metropolitan College of TAFE in Perth.

Susannah Macready and Jasmine Rozsa (NSW) |

Susannah Macready is qualified to represent very new interpreters, since she has only been interpreting since the beginning of 2007. With a background in education and a PhD recently completed, Susannah is currently working for the Education division of the Deaf Society of NSW as coordinator of their accredited literacy and numeracy programs.

| Jasmine Rozsa is a Para-Professional interpreter accredited in 2008 after completing the Diploma of Interpreting course at Petersham TAFE. She is currently employed at the Deaf Society of NSW as a Senior Interpreting Service Officer and has been for 2 years. She is currently undertaking study for a Diploma of Business and enjoys reading, the beach and travelling.
