Education - Approved Interpreting Courses in AustraliaTo become an interpreter you usually have to complete a course accredited by the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) or acquire accreditation via a NAATI test. However, fluency in a foreign language may also be obtained by living in that language's cultural environment. Contact NAATI for specific course and accreditation details. The following courses are accredited by NAATI. As subjects can vary, you should contact the institution for full details. The diploma and degree courses usually require completion of your HSC/ACT Year 12, or equivalent, with competence in oral and written English and one other language. You may have to sit for a test to prove bilingual ability. The various institutions have different prerequisites and some have flexible entry requirements. Contact the institutions you are interested in for more information as requirements may change. Download a Training Course Catalogue:
