ASLIA National Vision
To achieve a national standard of best practice in sign language interpreting through professional solidarity, relationships with stakeholders and a commitment to excellence.
ASLIA National Mission
The Australian Sign Language Interpreters' Association (ASLIA) is the national professional Association representing Australian Sign Language (Auslan) interpreters. ASLIA provides and promotes:
- on-going professional development opportunities for practitioners,
- advice to consumers and practitioners about interpreters' rights and responsibilities,
- consultation and collaboration with stakeholders on issues concerning Auslan interpreters and their clients, and
- standards of best practice in the field of Auslan interpreting.
