Mental Health First Aid
As part of Queensland Mental Health Week, ASLIAQ is supporting Queensland interpreters to gain a Standard Mental Health First Aid certificate.
As interpreters, we can find ourselves in situations where we meet people who we are concerned have a mental health problem but we aren’t sure how to respond or don’t feel equipped to provide first aid. Mental Health First Aid is about having the knowledge and skills to offer first aid for someone experiencing a mental health problem or crisis.
As a community of interpreters, who can experience challenging situations, it’s important we know how to support each other and offer first aid.
Face-to-face course for SEQ based interpreters
When: October 8th (Sat) and 9th (Sun) 9am-5pm
Where: Deaf Connect Alderley Office 467 Enoggera Road Alderley
Cost: $150 members (open now)
Cost: $200 non-members (open 14 August – if places are still available)
