Hosted by ASLIA NSW & Sweeney Interpreting
08/02/2020 | Starts: 10:00 am | Ends: 3:00 pm | Venue: Lebanese Muslim Association - 71-75 Wangee Rd, Lakemba NSW 2195,
Did you know that Islam is the world’s second largest religion? Did you know there are two cohorts, the S… or the S…?
There is a rich diversity within Islam and the Muslim community that many people are simply unaware of… that includes us as interpreters.
Come along a journey of discovery whilst improving your skills in a significantly growing area of need for the Muslim Deaf Community.
This event will have:
- Br Ahmad Awad providing presentations from the Muslim community,
- Discussions from an interpreter’s perspective by an experienced interpreter in this niche area, Rebecca Cramp who is also undertaking further tertiary studies in this area , and
- There will be a mixture of deaf people (both Sunni and Shia Muslims) represented on a Deaf panel.
N.B. this is not able to be live streamed
