Ethics: a masterclass for Deaf and hearing interpreters and translators

Hosted by ASLITA NSW/ACT

Sat 17/05/2025 | Starts: 9:30 am | Ends: 3:30 pm | State: NSW | Venue: MakerSpace 2, PHIVE

This masterclass is aimed at experienced Deaf and hearing interpreters and translators – but all are welcome!

Join Natt Kull and Chevoy Sweeney for an in-depth all-day session which will expand your understanding of our Code of Ethics and Guidelines for Professional Conduct, and the nuances of the Code’s practical application in our everyday work. There will be plenty of opportunities to discuss issues and consider options for putting ethics into practice across a range of settings.

The masterclass will be run in Auslan and is available in person only. The masterclass will be repeated in Canberra on 25 October 2025 – more information to come.

If you live outside of Sydney or Canberra and would like to attend – or if you live in Sydney and have a room to offer for a night to a colleague – please get in touch with Dani at the email address below.

· Morning and afternoon tea will be provided – please let us know if you have any dietary requirements.

· Please bring your lunch or plan to purchase lunch at one of the many cafes and outlets in Parramatta Square.

· Please let us know if you have any reasonable adjustments required.
