ASLITA is guided by a dedicated Board of Directors, made up of State Chairpersons and representatives from across Australia. These volunteers lead and drive the organisation, ensuring it remains responsive to the needs of the Auslan interpreting and translation community.

Lauren is a Certified provisional interpreter in Brisbane, Queensland. Starting her Auslan journey in 2016, Lauren joined ASLITA Queensland to co-found P-Platers in 2021 and then joined the ASLITA executive team in 2024. Lauren is passionate about interpreter wellbeing and improving the profession of sign language interpreting in Australia. As a strong believer in higher education, Lauren enjoys interpreting in a range of settings including university, workshops and seminars. In her personal life, Lauren is avid admirer of art and nature. She can be found at the gallery, in the theatre, on a walk, in the library or her favourite place – home with a good book.

Kate is an Auslan <> English Certified Provisional Interpreter who has been qualified since 2016. She enjoys working with the Deafblind community, sports clubs and interpreting in her local community of Geelong. Kate’s love of people and connection drew her into the field and she hasn’t looked back. More recently Kate has begun working as an interpreter trainer and is enjoying the new challenges and supporting future interpreters.
Kate has been involved with ASLITA Vic/Tas committee and the ASLITA National Conference 2024 organising committee. She is currently studying at Macquarie University working towards a Postgraduate Diploma of Auslan-English Interpreting. When Kate isn’t working you can find her gardening, cooking or eating.
