Postponed – WORST WORDS EVA
Hosted by Megan Bytheway & Angela Drakos
Sat 28/03/2020 | Starts: 9:00 am | Ends: 4:00 pm | State: QLD
We regret that this workshop has been postponed.
ASLIA Qld will send out an announcement once we have rescheduled
A workshop for interpreters who find boardrooms baffling, meetings monstrous and acronyms atrocious.
Megan pursued interpreting after nearly 20 years working in environmental science and corporate sustainability, with many of her recent years spent in corporate reporting, project planning and system improvement projects. She is thankful for this experience when faced with interpreting mumbo jumbo and corporate speak. Megan also contributes to volunteer-based committees (ASLIA Qld and her kids’ P&C committees) navigating the worlds of good governance, community consultation, compliance reporting (and more buzz words) – considering what is most important to the people that do the work.
Angela Drakos is a highly experienced interpreter and member of the community. Her career has seen her work the entire scope of an interpreters’ practice. From education to executive, theatre to welfare. Her background and knowledge in various settings makes her a truly valuable mentor and colleague. Angela has a unique talent when it comes to English and her command of Auslan allows her to navigate the murky world of “Worst Words Eva”.
