Want to know how to take your Auslan to English Interpreting from a Mic check to a Mic-drop?
From Ahhh to Amazing?!
This one is for you!Say What Now?! Making friends with A>E Interpreting (NSW)
Turn Fear into Fabulous!
Facilitated by: none other than the fabulous David McQuiggin.
Many Auslan interpreters feel under-confident when working into English — even though, for most of us, it’s our primary daily language, if not our mother tongue. Yet, with access improving for our Deaf community, the demand for skilled voice interpreters is higher than ever.
If you’re one of the many interpreters who find voicing assignments intimidating, you’re not alone — and this workshop is here to help.
Through structured, practical, language-work-based activities, you’ll:
- Engage with authentic Auslan source texts
- Analyse contextual meaning
- Explore a range of English renderings for clarity and impact
- Practise producing confident, intentional English interpretations
By expanding your range of English vocabulary, you can more effectively match the tone, register, and context of your clients — ensuring their message is delivered with accuracy, authenticity, and respect.
Please bring a secondary recording device to fully participate in activities.
Take your interpreting to the next level — and let your voice do our community justice.
