Recording 1: Dr Maree Madden ‘ITS NOT WHAT YOU SAY, IT’S THE WAY THAT YOU SAY IT: AUSLAN TO ENGLISH INTERPRETING SKILLS’
This workshop will examine the following topics:
– some of difficulties that Auslan interpreters encounter when interpreting from Auslan to English.;
– important elements of Auslan to English interpreting;
– vocabulary choice and sentence structure; and
– appropriate use of vocal intonation and phrasing to enhance interpreting quality
Recording 2: Stef Linder ‘FEATURES OF AUSLAN: LESS SIGNS MORE VISUAL’
This workshop is delivered hands on and will use practical activities such as use of space, role shift and depicting signs. This is an opportunity to develop and/ or to master these practical yet most useful tools for everyday Auslan and interpreting. The workshop aims for participants to leave with a great use of Auslan
