Make It Meaningful: Constructive Feedback for Interpreter Growth
Providing feedback is one of the most powerful ways we support the next generation of interpreters – but it’s not always easy to get right. This practical, hands-on workshop is designed for experienced interpreters who work alongside Certified Provisional Interpreters (CPIs) and novice practitioners, particularly in team or on-the-job settings.
Across six hours, participants will explore why feedback matters, what makes it constructive, and how to deliver it in ways that are clear, kind, and impactful. We’ll unpack feedback models, experiment with language strategies, and practise giving feedback in realistic interpreting scenarios – from quick debriefs to tricky conversations.
Whether you’re mentoring formally or offering feedback in the moment, this session will build your confidence, sharpen your communication skills, and help ensure your feedback truly makes a difference.
This PD welcomes experienced interpreters, mentors, educators, and team leaders supporting CPIs and new interpreters, however please note this PD is delivered in Auslan only.
Please email nswinfo@aslita.au with any questions
