This workshop is aimed at newly certified interpreters and translators (with experience 3 years and under), and current Diploma of Interpreting students.
Join Natt Kull and Chevoy Sweeney for an all-day session which will expand your understanding of our Code of Ethics and Guidelines for Professional Conduct, and the nuances of the Code’s practical application in our everyday work. There will be plenty of opportunities to discuss issues and consider options for putting ethics into practice across a range of settings.
The workshop will be delivered in English and interpreters will be organised if requested.
If you live outside of Sydney and would like to attend – or if you live in Sydney and have a room to offer for a night to a colleague – please get in touch with Chevoy: nswinfo@aslita.au

ASLITAQ – 2025 Mock Magistrate Court Rockhampton
$80.00Add to cartASLITAQ is excited to be partnering with the Department of Justice Queensland Court Services to provide mock court training for Auslan-English and Deaf Interpreters.
This session follows on from the online Introduction sessions. This Intermediate Session is an introduction to the Queensland Criminal Courts Jurisdictions including mock court participation. This Introduction will also include terminology, how a matter gets to court and most importantly Court Protocols and expectations of an interpreter in Court. You may be required to read scripts and undertake varying roles within the courts such as a Magistrate, Prosecutor, Defence Council and Defendant as well as using your skills to interpret along the way.
Auslan-English interpreters will be provided – PLEASE INDICATE WHEN REGISTERING IF YOU REQUIRE INTERPRETERS.
